Valentine's Day Is Coming!
With Valentine's Day right around the corner, this is the perfect time for a surprise get-away to Hearthstone Inn & Suites! Get that babysitter revved up and whisk your honey away for a break, away from the daily routine! You can also choose from scores of delightful, restaurants in our little all-American town of Cedarville or venture to the the Beavercreek/Dayton areas.
By the way - we can place a nice basket of seasonal flowers in your room and/or a Celebration Basket with cheese, crackers, fruit, candy, and a bottle of bubbly, non-alcoholic grape or apple juice (you are welcome to provide your own supplemental alternatives as you wish).
Dads - maybe you live a distance away and have a daughter at a local college in or near Cedarville. You know...it's been awhile since one of those "daddy-daughter dates", right? Come to Hearthstone Inn & Suites and surprise your "little girl" with a special time out with dad! Then have a restful night here before heading home after making more tender memories.
Call or reserve online today to book your accommodations for "Valentine's Week" at Hearthstone Inn & Suites, February 10-16, 2020. Standard KING rooms and DELUXE JACUZZI SUITES are available, but as the magic date approaches, weekends may book up! If so, mid-week is a GREAT, quiet option.

Adventures in 2020!
Biking. Hiking. Antiquing. College visitation. Yellow Springs. Weddings. Special events.
Folks stay at Hearthstone Inn & Suites for many different reasons! Most apparent among our TripAdvisor reviews are two things. Cleanliness and friendliness!
It has been awhile since our last blog. It IS a bit of a challenge to keep up when there are so many other tasks swirling around! Since our last blog, here are some of the highlights at Hearthstone Inn & Suites:
1) We installed an outdoor patio and lighting. Bike trail cyclists and small groups especially enjoy sitting outside in the evening with a beverage, after a vigorous day's ride, while our bistro lighting adds that extra sparkle and relaxation.
3) We were described in 2017 by the Dayton Daily news as one of the "Ten Coolest" places for an overnight stay in the state of Ohio! While the photo the writer used may be from our pre-opening in 2001 (no one thought to ask us!), the idea is still there, and we are so proud of designation!
https://www.mydaytondailynews.com/news/cool-places-spend-the-night-ohio-weekend-getaway/1kbI34VG52NQLsbisadabJ/
Cycling groups continue using Hearthstone Inn & Suites as their base of operations. Since we are located astride the Ohio to Erie Bike Trail (connected with the Little Miami Bike Trail) a good number of cycling groups from in-state, as well several as from Indiana and Pennsylvania, chose our hotel with great excitement. There is even a coast-to-coast ("Bike Non-Stop") race that cruises by our property. We have been privileged to host several of these vigorous riders!
The Ohio Renaissance Festival extended its season by a week in the fall and the folks there also added a NEW program in the Ohio Celtic Fest More and more guests are discovering our inn and choosing us over the large, often impersonal national franchise brands.
Our National Museum of the United States Air Force features a complete restoration of the Memphis Belle bomber! Hearthstone Inn & Suites is a 25-min drive to the world-class museum, which features FREE admission. Our tax dollars hard at work!
As usual, the nearby Village of Yellow Springs is a popular destination for those wishing to enjoy attending one of the two "Street Fairs", or just a quick get-away to cruise through the many shop, grab a bite at one of the delightful restaurants, or even catch an "indy" move at the Little Art movie theater.
If you enjoy wineries, we are but 15 minutes from the Brandeberry Winery and 20 minutes from Caesar Creek Vineyards. Breweries you ask? We offer the Yellow Springs Brewery and in nearby Xenia, Devil Wind Brewing. Devil Wind Brewing, opened in 2018, is not far from the Ohio-to-Erie Bike Trail, so you can hop on your bike here at Hearthstone Inn & Suites, take a leisurely 9 mile ride to Devil Wind, then head back using the bike trail, enjoying the fresh evening air. (If you had "one-too-many", ask us about how you and your prized bicycle can be transported back to Hearthstone Inn & Suites safely and securely! (Transportation limited to 2 people/2 bikes).

Great Things Ahead! 2016 Leisure and Adventure Travelers Unite! (Summer 2016 Edition)
GO TAKE A HIKE - AND MORE!
Now into our 15th year of serving adventurers, explorers, hikers, bike trail cyclists, "celebrators", "anniversariers", and college-shoppers! Antiquers, "shopping outlet-ers",
yoginis, and "Renaissance Revelers". Oh yes....more weddings and social gatherings!
yoginis, and "Renaissance Revelers". Oh yes....more weddings and social gatherings!
Hearthstone Inn & Suites hotel once again enters a season of leisure travel, mild temperatures and sunshine! You'll find a "fresh face" at our inn, with delightful new frontage landscaping and our continuing commitment to that classic feel of "serenity" which many guests have come to appreciate through the years. You'll get the "feel" of a "B&B" - but with the amenities of a
fine hotel (which we are).
If you watch any TV, undoubtedly you've seen countless commercials for branded hotels and some "hotel search" websites that promise everything but "the moon". "Best accommodations, superior services, guaranteed best rates", etc. The reality is that those national brands are still just commercial enterprises, typically devoid of personality. Rates do not vary that much except for the "budget" (think "6 & 8"), mid-scale (think familiar "H" brands including our very own Hearthstone Inn) and Upper-Tier (think "budget-buster"). That "hot breakfast" they promote often features scrambled egg products of undetermined ingredients and make-your-own waffles with who-knows-what's-in-the-batter. Here at Hearthstone Inn & Suites, you'll get real eggs (hard boiled and pre-peeled, but real), Bob Evans' brand heat-and-eat breakfast burritos and sausage biscuits, and much more. Oh.....I myself don't like "hotel coffee" at all....so we don't serve "hotel coffee" here. Instead, ours is custom blended gourmet and roasted locally. Stay here just for the coffee!
As you plan for the summer, we feature area attractions like Indian Mound Reserve, Glen Helen, and John Bryan parks. Water falls, gorges, covered bridges, and an astounding bike trail system. Antiques, aviation, aerospace, history, and even an Amish cheese and bulk foods store
called "Donna Jeans". Rent a bike here (or a tandem), skip over to a winery (18 mins.) or discover art and cool dining in the Village of Yellow Springs.
The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is putting the final touches on an exciting, new Space Shuttle exhibit (with a REAL Space Shuttle astronaut "trainer"). Ohio's very own Renaissance Festival will be more fun than ever (beginning Labor Day weekend). Our village Opera House has a fabulous array of programs (www.cedarvilleoperahouse.org)
Don't forget - for those special times - such as anniversaries and romantic getaways - we offer Deluxe Jacuzzi King Suites.

Winter Wonder and Spring Anticipation/Things to Do!
WINTER WONDER &
SPRING ANTICIPATION
We have wrapped up a fabulous 14th year of serving our wonderful guests here in Cedarville, Ohio and are enjoying every minute of it! Increased numbers of cyclists are discovering Hearthstone Inn & Suites, stepping right off the Ohio-to-Erie Bike Trail and into our lobby for a restful stay. We've hosted several weddings on site, conference groups, innumerable "get-away-ers", and Village of Yellow Springs explorers. We cannot believe that we are now in our 15th year! Thank you to all our guests, your word-of-mouth sharing, and overall tremendous reviews.
The renowned "Chautauqua" historic presentation troupe chose our inn as "home" during this year's week-long dramatic presentations in Clifton, Ohio. The annual "Christmas Lights at the Historic Clifton Mill" (just 5 minutes away) has attracted record numbers of guests for Hearthstone Inn stays. The uniqueness of our Deluxe Jacuzzi King Suites has provided many with the ideal escape for those special celebratory times. While no hotel is absolutely perfect in every aspect, we have experienced increased numbers of guests raving about our non-franchise, independent property. Several guest comments were offered (which we hear at least 3-4 times per year) "I've traveled the world, but Hearthstone Inn & Suites is truly among the best places I've stayed!".
As fall entered winter this year, our town was treated to a rare phenomena - hoarfrost. Here are a few photos of this amazing event taken in our very own Indian Mound Reserve Park (located just a minute away from Hearthstone Inn & Suites here in Cedarville, Ohio and featuring hiking trails, a limestone gorge, waterfall, and an ancient Adena tribe mound):
We'll endeavor to improve, upgrade, and stay on top of the rankings in the upcoming year. So, if you are coming to Ohio and planning a visit to Cedarville, Yellow Springs, Springfield, Xenia, Fairborn, Dayton, or ANYWHERE within a half-hour of us - check us out!
We're just 12 minutes from both I-70, exit 54 (Springfield/Cedarville) and I-71, exit 65 (Jeffersonville/Tanger Outlets, then west on US 35 for just one (1) exit to the Jamestown/Cedarville exit, State Route 72 north).
As we make our way towards the Spring, there is STILL plenty to do in our region! Here's just a few:
- CYRANO De BERGERAC, Cedarville University/Feb 4-5-6 and 11-12-13
- HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS, (Fairborn) Nutter Center, Dec. 30 and 31
- MONSTER JAM (Fairborn) Nutter Center, April 9, 2016
- DON'T FORGET VALENTINE'S DAY! Treat your Sweetheart to a delightful "staycation" at Hearthstone Inn & Suites! You can book a Jacuzzi Suite (if still available) - but if not, our King Rooms are quite cozy and you can spend the extra on dinner out or some in-room flowers and/or treats! (book a.s.a.p. - local events are concurrent with this date)
- "A Christmas Story", at LaComedia Dinner Theater (Springboro) / Nov. 4-Dec. 31, 2015, "Fiddler on the Roof," March 3 - May, 2016,
So, there's no need to endure the winter blues! Even if your schedule doesn't allow for any of the above events, you can plan a romantic getaway or a personal "retreat" mid-week. Our Jacuzzi King Suites will pamper you with relaxation, on-the-wall HD theater system, a charming electric fireplace, and that most-enjoyable 2-person (or 1 even) Jacuzzi Tub in your premium bedroom.
Our village offers old-time quaintness and quietness with a delicious family diner across the street, a Chinese restaurant, pizzeria, two (2) cafes, ice cream studio, and a soft-serve ice cream shop.
The Village of Yellow Springs, always popular with tourists, is merely a 10-minute drive.
PLANNING FOR THE SPRING
Looking ahead - Our Ohio-to-Erie Bike Trail system continues to develop as the nation's TOP-RATED, off-road bikeway. Our section, the Prarie Grass Trail, wanders into the Little Miami Trail - a magnet for active cyclists. For a different vacation idea, why not plan a few days of fresh air and exercise on two-wheels? For your convenience, we built Hearthstone Inn & Suites just 10-feet from the trail! Step outside, unlock your bike, put on your helmet and....go! April, May and June are GREAT times to bike here. Take a day in April/May/June and you'll be able to catch the wildflowers in nearby Indian Mound Reserve with its Indian mound, hiking trail, waterfall and gorge. All right here in Cedarville.

Beat the Winter Blues and Add-Ons!
The "holidays" are behind us, decorations are stored away, and thankfully there's not a sign of another 2013-14 style "Polar Vortex". Here in Cedarville, Ohio, our moderate temperatures and the astounding national gas prices brought more guests than EVER to see the nearby lights of Historic Clifton Mill. A good number of families and small groups chose Hearthstone Inn & Suites for their holiday get-togethers. Finally, a huge "thank you" to our many guests, our TripAdvisor ranking has now propelled us into the #1 position of ALL hotels in our 2-county area! (Yes - we are a real, independent, mid-level HOTEL, not a "bed and breakfast".... although we have a tough time convincing our enthusiastic guests about THAT!)
As we make our way towards the Spring, there is STILL plenty to do in our region! Here's just a few:
- FIDDLER on the ROOF, Cedarville University/Jan 29-Feb 8
- EUCHER NIGHT, Bullwinkle's Bistro in Miamisburg/ Jan 30

Ready for the Holidays 2014
Ready for the Holidays?
Our local Bike Trail traffic has subsided.....leaves have changed color from green to red to orange to brown and have fallen....the cold weather front has pushed out the last remnants of warmth. It's the season of transition once again at Hearthstone Inn & Suites. As the season changes, so does our "busyness". It's a GREAT time to plan either a fall getaway, or to consider putting up those visiting family members at our top-rated hotel! November's Thanksgiving ushers in the astounding HISTORIC CLIFTON MILL festival of lights! From the DaytonLocal website:
For over 20 years Clifton Mill has celebrated the Christmas season in a very special way. Our light display is one of the country's finest with over 3.5 million lights illuminating the mill, the gorge, the riverbanks, trees and bridges. There is even a 100 foot "waterfall" of twinkling lights. The flip of one switch turns all the lights on at once transforming night into a fantastical winter wonderland.
The lights have been featured in Midwest Living and Ohio Magazine. There is a Miniature Village, a Santa Claus Museum and a spectacular synchronized lights and music show that features the old Covered Bridge. Every night until Christmas you can peek into Santa's Workshop to see a live Santa at work and then, every 15 minutes or so, watch him check his list and go up the chimney to load his sleigh!
So gather your family and head out to see The Legendary Lights of Clifton Mill for an instant "Christmas Spirit" boost.
Plan ahead now for these other area events!
THANKSGIVING DAY: Too busy to plan dinner? YOUNG'S GOLDEN JERSEY INN offers a fabulous Thanksgiving Dinner menu. Top it off with a stay At Hearthstone Inn & Suites!
CEDARVILLE, OHIO: LITTLE TOWN OF LIGHTS - Saturday. December 6, 2014 (local event)
